USE CROSS-PROMOTION
eBay can help you sell more items by displaying, or cross-promoting, other items
you have for sale when a buyer bids on or buys an item (???Start an eBay Store,???
later in this chapter, describes the cross promotions in eBay Stores). eBay has a
default set of rules it uses to pick which items to display. You can create rules to
customize which items are displayed and whether you want work with other
sellers to display each other??™s items.
1. In the My eBay Views sidebar, in the All Selling section, click Marketing Tools.
2. On the Marketing Tools sidebar, under Item Promotion:
??? Click Defaults to establish rules that tell eBay which of your for-sale items you want
displayed (based on category) for given listings (also based on category).
??? Click Settings to select whether you want to cross-promote and where it??™s
applicable, as well as whether you want to create cross-promotion connections with
other sellers to display each other??™s items that match your criteria (see Figure 10-6).
??? Click Connections to establish cross-promotion connections with other sellers.
CAUTION
You won??™t see the Marketing Tools link in My eBay until
you??™ve established a seller??™s account.
