You
would do this with nonpaying bidders or buyers, or if you have had a bad
experience with a buyer. You can build a list of up to 1,000 blocked buyers. See
Chapter 7 for how to do this.
Handle Shipping Concerns
If you have a problem with shipping??”for instance, you shipped a package and
it didn??™t arrive or it arrived damaged??”you may have to deal with insurance
concerns. If you did not insure the item, you cannot make a claim for it. If the
item is insured, you may be reimbursed for all or part of the item??™s price. In that
case, contact the carrier and make the claim according to their requirements.
Some possibilities are:
??? www.usps.com/welcome.htm for the United States Post Office (USPS)
??? www.ups.com/content/us/en/resources/service/claims/index.html for United Parcel
Service (UPS)
??? www.fedex.com/us/customer/claims for Federal Express (FedEx)
NOTE
With nonpaying buyers, the seller can either relist the
item and put it up for sale again or use Second Chance
Offers. With a Second Chance Offer, the seller contacts a
losing bidder and asks if he or she wants to buy the item.
(See Chapter 8 for how to relist an item or use Second
Chance Offers.)
CAUTION
If the item is damaged and it has not been packaged
correctly, or if the seller charges for insurance but does not
secure it from the carrier, the carrier??™s insurance may pay
only a part of the costs (in the case of damage) or none at
all.
