USING ACCOUNT GUARD
Account Guard is a feature on the eBay Toolbar that
helps to guard your access to the eBay and PayPal sites
and warns you when you may be on a fraudulent Web
site or one impersonating eBay or PayPal.
READ ACCOUNT GUARD WARNINGS
The Account Guard button changes color to verify
accounts:
??? Green indicates that you are signed in to your
eBay or PayPal account.
??? Gray indicates that you are no longer on eBay??™s
protected Web site. This may be simply another
Web site you commonly use or one claiming to be
eBay.
??? Red indicates that you might be on a spoof site.
SET ACCOUNT GUARD PREFERENCES
1. Click Account Guard
and click Account
Guard Options. If the
Account Guard tab is
not displayed, click it, as
seen in Figure 9-8.
2. Since the default is
to inform you if your
password is used on
another site, you must click Inform Me If I Enter
My eBay Password On Other Sites to clear it.
