QUICKFACTS
USING FEEDBACK
eBay??™s feedback system helps you by providing the
transaction histories of others and enabling you to build
your own reputation so that others may know you. See
Chapters 4 and 8 to see how to leave feedback as
a buyer or seller. This chapter describes how to use
feedback to prevent mistakes in judgment about doing
business with someone.
BUILD A REPUTATION
Other buyers or sellers will know you by how you have
performed in the past. See Figure 9-3 for an example
of a seller with ideal feedback ratings. If past buyers or
sellers have had good experiences doing business with
you, you will get good feedback comments. If you have
provided bad experiences, your feedback comments will
reflect that. Feedback ratings are like money in the bank.
They are a real currency in this cyber-economy, where
you can??™t shake hands with a business partner face-toface.
Protect your feedback rating by going out of your
way to be fair and accountable.
PROVIDE FEEDBACK??”GOOD, BAD,
OR INDIFFERENT
Part of being a responsible buyer or seller is to give
feedback. Do it fairly and in a timely manner.
