ADDING PICTURES AND VIDEOS
As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words.
Pictures (which include photos, scans, and graphics)
and videos can go a long way in supplementing the
descriptive text of your item. Your picture and video
options depend on how you host, or store, your material.
Pictures and videos are not physically added or copied
to the selling form??”you type a link to where the material
is hosted.
ADD PICTURES
Hosting options include:
??? eBay Picture Services, using basic or enhanced
features (see ???Use eBay Picture Services???).
??? Self-hosting, using your own hosting site or a
third-party service (see ???Self-Host Your Pictures???).
To use pictures in your listing:
1. Create the JPG, PNG, or GIF file using a digital
camera, scanner, or drawing program (see ???Take
Quality Pictures??? earlier in the chapter).
2. Link the picture to the Sell Your Item form through
eBay Picture Services (where you first upload the
picture from your computer to eBay) or a hosting
Web server.
ADD VIDEOS
You can link to videos you own (see Chapter 5 for
information on eBay??™s intellectual property rights
policies).
1. Upload the video to one of eBay??™s approved video
hosting sites: AOL, Google, Microsoft, MySpace,
or YouTube.
2. Add a link to the video in your item description.
