Editing programs such as Adobe??™s Photoshop and
Photoshop Elements allow you to change resolution, sharpen images, adjust
color, and otherwise change several other image attributes (see Photoshop
QuickSteps or Photoshop Elements 3 QuickSteps, published by McGraw-Hill/
Osborne, for more information on editing pictures).
Create a Custom Item Description
eBay gives the seller a lot of latitude in creating an item description that is
outside the boundaries of the tools and features on the Sell Your Item form.
With only minimal knowledge, you can put together what is essentially your
own Web page using Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) editors or adding
the HTML code yourself. You can create eye-catching listings that include
backgrounds, multiple pictures, a logo, and links to other Web pages that
support the item, you as the seller, and your other eBay activities, as shown
in Figure 6-1.
USE A WYSIWYG HTML EDITOR
The easiest way to create a Web page that you can use as your item description
is to purchase a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) HTML editor, such
as Microsoft FrontPage, that lets you use word processor-type controls to format
text, add pictures, and create links.
USE HTML TO FORMAT TEXT
HTML employs a series of tags that identify the elements in a Web page.
