Buyers will be scanning lists looking for interesting titles.
You will only have a few seconds of a buyer??™s time to
entice him or her to look at your item in more detail.
Good item titles follow generally accepted protocols that
have stood the test of (eBay) time:
??? Clearly describe your item, using keywords that a
bidder might typically use to find the item.
??? Place the more important keywords toward the
beginning of the title.
??? Search for items that are similar to yours and
see what other sellers are using to describe their
items. For example, look at completed auctions
and sales to view the titles used by successful
sellers.
??? If your item has associated branding, model
names, or other unique descriptors, be sure to
include them. ???KitchenAid 5-qt Artisan 325-watt
Mixer, Black??? provides a whole lot more information
and potential keyword hits than just ???Mixer.??? This
is also a good example of using both specific
(KitchenAid, Artisan, 325-watt) and general (Mixer,
Black) keywords for searchers who know exactly
what they want and those who only kind of know
what they are looking for.
