Prepare to Create a Listing
In order to place an item for bid in an eBay auction, create a Buy It Now listing,
or add items for sale to an eBay Store (see Chapter 10), you will use the Sell
Your Item form to create a listing that your potential customers will use to
learn about your item. All you need to get started is to be registered on eBay
(see Chapter 1 for information on how to do this). At the end of your first
listing, eBay will require you to obtain a seller??™s account (see ???Obtain a Seller??™s
Account??? later in this chapter).
Listing an item on eBay is best performed if you accomplish a few preliminary tasks
prior to sitting down with the Sell Your Item form on the computer in front of you:
??? Formulate a title that accurately describes your item, entices buyers, and allows them
to easily find it when searching (see the ???Creating a Good Title??? QuickFacts).
??? Obtain digital-format pictures of the item (see ???Take Quality Pictures???).
