ADDING SKYPE TO YOUR LISTINGS
So what does a free (or at any rate, cheap) Voice-over
Internet Protocol (VoIP) Internet phone service have to
do with selling on eBay? Well, when you use the eBay
version of Skype (see Figure 5-15), there are features
that provide several reasons for you to consider using it.
While using your computer to place free calls to anyone
else in the world who is also in front of their computer
using Skype is certainly neat, eBay ups the ante by
adding buying- and selling-related features. To add the
Skype button to your listings to let buyers know they can
cheaply contact you by phone or chat:
1. Create an eBay Skype account if you don??™t
already have one (on the eBay home page, click
Skype under the Other eBay Companies sidebar,
and download the free software).
2. Click My eBay on the eBay header, and click
Preferences under the My Account sidebar.
3. Scroll down to the Member-To-Member
Communication Preferences section, click Show,
and then click Add.
