2. When you are ready, click Bid Now currency and price, shown in Figure 4-13, to
place a bid against other Internet bidders and those on the auction house floor. Your bid
will be immediately placed. You may see your bid pass through the Message History
pane along with other Internet and floor bids. You can see that the next
bid amount is already calculated as soon you click the Bid Now button.
3. When you are finished with the live auction, click eBay on the header to return to
eBay.com.
Retract a Bid
Under some conditions, you can retract a bid. There are both timing conditions
and reasons why the bid is being retracted that need to be considered (see the
???Retracting a Bid??? QuickFacts). To retract a bid:
1. On the View Item page, click the History Bid n link, and scroll down below the Bidder
list to You Can Retract Your Bid Under Certain Circumstances Only.
2. Click Retract Your Bid. (Note that you cannot retract a Buy It Now purchase.)
3. You may have to enter your eBay User ID and password. The Bid Retractions page is
displayed. It explains the reasons and seriousness of retracting a bid.
4. Scroll down the Bid Retraction page, and type the amount in the Item Number Of
Auction In Question text box.
5. Click the Your Explanation Of The Retraction
down arrow, and select a reason for the retraction
from the menu.
