eBay offers buyers (and sellers) a list of independent companies that help you
determine if an item is in good condition and is what the seller says it is. This
can increase your confidence that you are not being defrauded. You, as a buyer,
pay a small fee to have the item investigated. You may want to have the item
graded or authenticated. You can buy these services for stamps, trading cards,
sports autographs and memorabilia, comics, coins, books, Beanie Babies, or
jewelry, among other things. eBay, of course, does not guarantee that these
services are valid, but they do represent that the companies listed are valid
