Review Other Bidders
When you are looking at the listing for an item, you also can investigate the
other bidders.
1. Find the item for which you are bidding, such as you might find in Figure 3-5, by
browsing or searching for an item. Click the title to display the View Item page.
2. Click the History link to see a
list of bidders. The Bid History
page is displayed, as shown in
Figure 3-6. If the item is highly
priced, the bidder??™s identity will
be hidden. The amount that
causes an item??™s bidders to be
hidden is established by eBay,
and varies per country.
3. Click the bidder??™s User ID link to
find out additional information.
TIP
Notice the icons beside the seller??™s User ID in the Meet The
Seller area. Two in particular call attention to interesting
attributes about the seller. If your seller has a New ID icon,
you will know that the seller is new to eBay within
the last 30 days. If the seller has a Changed ID icon,
you know that the user has changed his or her ID from
something else within the last 30 days. In this case, you??™ll
want to look up the history of the previous ID as well.
NOTE
Another useful place to find out about the seller is the
About Me page or the eBay My World page, provided the
seller has created them. You can click the seller??™s User
ID, and then click the About Me icon .
