QUICKFACTS
USING SEARCH VARIATIONS
You can use special characters and combine text in new
ways to get more precise searches. Some of the ways
include the following:
??? To list keywords that may be in titles, just type the
words with a space between them.
??? To list specific keywords in a specific order, type
the words with quotation marks around them. This
finds only items matching the text between the
quotes.
??? To delete items from the search that contain a
certain word, type a minus sign (??’) with no space
before each word. To delete any items with several
words in the title, you can also place the words
within parentheses with a comma separating them,
and with a minus sign without a space immediately
before the left parenthesis, such as ??“(used, old,
antique).
??? To find items with either one word or another,
place both words in parentheses separated by
commas, such as (green,blue).
??? To find words starting with certain characters,
follow the characters with an asterisk, such as
org*. This finds all words beginning with ???org.???
